Raining down on the fronds
Whoever thought paradise
Could be so rainy
The sun shining down
Almost as if smiling upon
Warming hearts of man
In misty nature
There are red leaves falling down
Gathering by my side
If haiku is art
Why is it not displayed where
All can enjoy it
The white air in front
Reminds me how much the Winter
Changes many things
Summer days bring back
The memories of the fun
That used to be had
The small tadpole swam.
It kept on swimming until
It became the frog
The great heron swoops
Diving to apprehend the
small fleeing creature
Eagles soar swiftly
And regally, knowing they
Are the top dog bird
Swiftly swimming trout
Dinner to so many tepees
Smoking on a spit
The suitably slow
Sluggish sloth swings surely from
One branch to the next
The platypus is
What some call nature’s mistake
It is not valued
Burrowing, buried
The owl makes its home deep down
To protect himself
The alligator
Lurks in the depth of all swamps
Waiting to kill prey
The killer bee that
Buzzes in your ear is not
Actually there
